Congress has passed laws which endorse rules set by the FCC that allows tenants to install and set-up their satellite dishes/antennas. This rule gives the tenants this said rights only if the satellite dish is not in an area - [Defined as areas that will not readily be accessible without landlord permission and supervision] – “a common one” that is accessible to other tenants. There by avoiding all sorts of imposition and inconvenience.

Every tenant has a right to subscribe and receive satellite signals under this congress endorsement. There are however a few restrictions tied to the tenant’s rights.

In summary;

1. Renter may not damage landlord’s property in any way.

2. You must obtain permission from the land or property owner before installing or altering the property.

3. If there is a designated dish for the area by virtue of land edicts than a tenant must abide by those rules and not install any other type of dish.

4. The installed dish may not protrude into common areas as primarily stated in the endorsement by congress.

5. If the area in question is a historic site then there might also be restrictions; if there are restrictions then the tenant must abide.
